Ms. Reed utilizes a holistic therapeutic approach to understand and support clients, considering the emotional, social/cultural, physical, intellectual and spiritual aspects of each person’s life.


 

Ms. Reed utilizes a holistic therapeutic approach to understand and support clients, considering the emotional, social/cultural, physical, intellectual and spiritual aspects of each person’s life. Ms. Reed uses play therapy techniques with young children; with teens and adults. Ms. Reed uses a combination of client-centered, psycho-educational and cognitive-behavioral therapies as well as mindfulness practices in her therapeutic work.

Ms. Reed enjoys working across the age span and meets with children (4 years and older), teens and adults. She serves a diverse client population and welcomes the opportunity to work with individuals and families from a wide variety of socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and orientations who have faced challenging life experiences.

Ms. Reed consults with parents about child-rearing and behavioral concerns and the particular identity issues of adolescence. She has specialized training in treating young people and adults who have experienced significant loss and trauma. Ms. Reed specializes in supporting parents and children who are in transition because of parental separation and divorce. She also provides reunification therapy between family members--most often a parent and child--who have become estranged from one another.
